The KFC Colonel’s Scholars Program was created in 2006 and is dedicated to assisting students with financial need who plan to pursue a bachelor’s degree at a public institution within their legal state of residence. To qualify, a student must :

Janice M. Scott Memorial Scholarship Fund

Janice M. Scott lost her
life on September 11, 2001 when flight 77 crashed into the Pentagon. Six $2,500 scholarships are available to
seniors who will graduate in 2010. The
selection process involves four means of evaluation: need, academics, community
service, and writing skill. An
application, transcript, two letters of recommendation, FAFSA, Senior Picture,
and essay must be submitted. See Mrs.

Kids’ Chance Scholarship Fund

This fund was established by
the Workers’ Compensation Section of the Alabama State Bar in 1992 to provide
scholarships for college and technical school to children who have had a parent
killed or permanently and totally disabled in an on-the-job accident. Students are required to apply for financial
aid from the college or technical school they will be attending. Apply
