Colonel’s Scholars

Deadline: February 10, 2010

The KFC Colonel’s Scholars Program was created in 2006 and is dedicated to assisting students with financial need who plan to pursue a bachelor’s degree at a public institution within their legal state of residence. To qualify, a student must :

  • Earn a minimum high school cumulative GPA of 2.75 or higher
  • Enroll in a public, in-state college, or university (start date no later than 9/30/10)
  • Pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree
  • U.S citizen or permanent resident.
  • Demonstrate financial need

Student must complete their applications online at the address given above. The online application is available from December 1, 2009 through February 10, 2010.

 

 

US Funds Scholarships

Deadline February 15, 2010

US Funds announces that it is accepting applications online to help students from low- to moderate-income households pay college costs.  The program offers $1,500 scholarships to qualified full-time or half-time undergraduates.  Applicants for the scholarship must be enrolled or plan to enroll in coursework at accredited two- or four-year colleges, universities or vocational/technical schools beginning with the fall 2010 term.  For complete eligibility information and to apply online, students should visit www.usafunds.org/scvholarship

 

 

Alabama Association of School Office Personnel Scholarship Committee

Deadline March 1, 2010

Alabama Association of School Office Personnel will award up to four (4) 1,000 scholarships to students pursing a degree from the college of business or K-12 education.  The scholarships will be awarded on the basis of scholastic record and financial need.  See Mrs. Simmons for an application.

 

Tuscaloosa Alumni Chapter – Alabama State University

Body By Milk 2010 SAMMY Award

Mercedes-Benz U.S. International Scholarship Program

DCH Foundation, Inc (DCH Scholarship Committee)

The DCH Health System is pleased to award scholarships for students choosing the healthcare field for their future profession.  All scholarships will be awarded to the most qualified applicants meeting the criteria, as judged by the appointed Scholarship Committee.  Students interested in applying for any scholarship need only submit one set of completed application packet materials.  See Mrs. Simmons for an application.

 

 

Riverview Orthodontics, PC

Riverview Orthodontics, P.C. is promoting continuing education and encourage their patients to strive for excellence.  They have established a scholarship in the amount of $500.00 to help with the financial burden of secondary education. Janice M. Scott Memorial Scholarship Fund

Deadline:  March 31, 2010

Janice M. Scott lost her life on September 11, 2001 when flight 77 crashed into the Pentagon.  Six $2,500 scholarships are available to seniors who will graduate in 2010.  The selection process involves four means of evaluation: need, academics, community service, and writing skill.  An application, transcript, two letters of recommendation, FAFSA, Senior Picture, and essay must be submitted. Young American Creative Patriotic Art Award

Deadline March 31

Grades 9-12 can express their patriotism through art. National Scolarships: 1st Place $10,000; 2nd Place $5,000; 3rd Place $2,500; 4th Place $1,500; 5th – 8th Place $500. See Mrs. Simmons for rules and entry forms.

 

 

 

Kids’ Chance Scholarship Fund

Deadline:  May 1, 2010

This fund was established by the Workers’ Compensation Section of the Alabama State Bar in 1992 to provide scholarships for college and technical school to children who have had a parent killed or permanently and totally disabled in an on-the-job accident.  Students are required to apply for financial aid from the college or technical school they will be attending.  Apply online at www.alfinc.org.

Family earning less than $60,000 a year with an honors student graduating from high school soon, Harvard wants to pay your tuition.
